Thinking About Parenting?
If your pregnancy is unexpected, the idea of parenting may feel intimidating. You may be thinking about finances, housing, relationships, school, work, or whether you can handle the responsibility. It’s normal to feel unsure, especially if you never expected to be in this position.
At Harbour Health, we offer free and confidential support for women and men who are considering parenting. Our staff understands that parenting is not just a decision; it’s a life transition.
You deserve a safe place to talk honestly about your fears, your goals, and the support you may need moving forward.
Questions You May Be Asking Yourself
When weighing your options, you may begin with questions like:
- Can I financially support a child?
- Will my partner or family support me?
- Can I continue school or keep working?
- What if I don’t know how to be a parent?
- Where can I go for help?
These questions are normal, and they don’t mean you’re failing or don’t have the support you need. You can instead use them as a guide when gathering the resources you would need.
